Albert Asensio

(Horta de Sant Joan, 1974)

Albert studied graphic design at the EADT (Escola d’Art i Disseny Tarragona). He later completed a postgraduate course in illustration at the EINA, Centre Universitari de Disseny i Art de Barcelona (2006-2007), as well as two courses in drawing and painting at the Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design, London, in 2009. Since 2007, he has worked as an illustrator for publishers such as Anaya, Juventud, Random House Mondadori [imprint now renamed as Literatura Random House], Teide, or Planeta, as well as for newspapers such as La Vanguardia or Ara. He has been awarded a number of prizes like a bronze Laus for a poster for Fira Tàrrega 2010, a prize from the Venezuelan children’s literature organization Banco del Libro for the book Kim by Rudyard Kipling (Juventud, 2009), and three Juceda prizes, best book cover, best advertising, and best scientific illustration.
